Starting Over

It is summer in Arizona. Really hot but I’ve lived here now for 38 years so I guess I am a native now? Probably not. We do have a 2nd home in South Lake Tahoe, CA that was supposed to be a vacation rental but that was voted to be eliminated in areas that were not the tourist corridor. We rented it out full time to a family for 3 1/2 years and they moved out a year and a half ago so we have been trying to afford 2 homes since then. I had an incident on social media that really upset me and I needed to rethink my priorities. It used to be socially proper etiquette to acknowledge someone else’s art but I guess that is not the norm any more. I still am very bothered by this so I took some time to figure out how I would process this and it has not been easy.

I am starting another business. A t-shirt, tumbler and cups company. I hope to make and sell wherever I can. I will still do my glass and metalwork as well. I’ve also for several years made santa bags at Christmas time so it has been lucrative to say the least.

Thinking outside the box

Sometimes you have to sit and quiet the noise. Not always easy, but necessary to allow the creative thinking to flow. I was making a spinner ring the other day and decided to film myself in the process. Luckily I knew from a friends clip that she did in time lapse that it would be the best way to take a 2+ hour process and get it in just over a minute.

Welcome

I am truly excited to announce my revamped website. No more trying to maintain using HTML, and dreamweaver - too time consuming. It is enough to know I know how, but time to move to something different. I believe my metalsmith and lampwork glass abilities are good enough to offer lots of unique jewelry incorporating both, but craftsmanship takes time so this will evolve over time. My offerings will be on Etsy and occasionally on either my own Facebook page or a group page. Thanks for visiting!
